A family of four can enjoy a weekend of shopping and dining in a knex-themed amusement park set up in the shadow of the world famous B.C. salmon run, which is set to close for good this summer.
The park is located at the corner of Main and Pine, about three kilometres south of Vancouver.
Its name refers to the fact it is a knix (pond) and is a form of amusement park built to be a floating amusement park with rides and attractions.
Its staff, who have been with the company since the 1950s, have been running the park since it opened in 2015, and have a lot of experience with the equipment and people needed to run it.
Its also been a popular spot for children to play in the winter.
There’s a Knex family gathering at the park this summer.(Kelley MacDonald/CBC)”It’s a great place for kids to play and to do a lot more than just play, which was always part of the charm of the park,” said Mike Taggart, a Knix volunteer.
The playground is part of a larger amusement park and food truck project, which will see the park open to the public in 2021.
“We have a really great plan here, we have a plan that is really good for the people of the community,” said Taggard.
The company is partnering with the city and city staff to make sure the park is as safe as possible, and has a dedicated staff member in charge of the project.
It’s part of Knix’s ongoing work to build a safer, more fun place for everyone.
“Knix’s family of family is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle that is going to make that happen,” said Mayor of Vancouver Geoff Meggs.
The city has been working with the Knix family for many years, and the park will be built with the assistance of a large community of volunteers and community members.
The first two rides are scheduled to open in 2021, but there’s no timeline on when the third ride will open.
The park will open in phases and each will be open for two months at a time.
