Disney parks in the U.S. and Canada will be open with two new superslide rides this weekend, the company announced Monday.
The first ride is called “SuperSlide,” a ride that uses an inflatable platform to travel at a speed of up to 20 mph on a curved track.
The ride, which opens Saturday at Disney California Adventure parks in Anaheim and Orlando, will be the first of a planned series of rides for the parks, which are set to open on May 23.
Disney announced the ride at a press event Monday.
“We have been exploring new and innovative ways to introduce fun to guests of all ages,” the company said in a statement.
The park has already released a number of new rides in recent months.
The second attraction, called “Hangtime,” is a ride similar to the “Superslides” ride but designed for children ages 5 to 12.
The attraction, which is scheduled to open May 27 at the California Adventure park in Anaheim, is expected to have an average speed of around 20 mph, Disney said.
The company said it was inspired by the concept of “Super Slides,” which were launched at the Disney Parks in 2017.
In 2017, the park opened its first “Super Slide” ride, a roller coaster built on a track that would lift passengers into the air at speeds of up of 20 mph.
