Kennywood will open “a new amusement park” at its new theme park site, the first in the UK, following an announcement of the new park on Monday.
The amusement park will have an indoor and outdoor theme park, according to the company’s website.
Kennywood, which has more than 7,000 employees and is based in Leeds, will be the first amusement park to open in the country after it was announced in February.
Its opening will mark the latest in a string of major UK entertainment centres to open since the UK’s exit from the EU.
The UK has been struggling to maintain its entertainment industry, with local shops, pubs and restaurants closing.
Kennywoods development, on the north side of the town of Leeds, is the first to open on the UK-wide theme park network.
The new park is the largest to open outside of the UK since the launch of the Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Fantasy Resort at Disney’s Florida Resort in 2009.
It is expected to create 2,500 permanent jobs, with a total annual cost of about £3bn.
